1. अमरीकी भाइयों और बहनों, आपने जिस स्नेह के साथ मेरा स्वागत किया है उससे मेरा दिल भर आया है. मैं दुनिया की सबसे पुरानी संत परंपरा और सभी धर्मों की जननी की तरफ़ से धन्यवाद देता हूं. सभी जातियों और संप्रदायों के लाखों-करोड़ों हिंदुओं की तरफ़ से आपका आभार व्यक्त करता हूं.

2. मैं इस मंच पर बोलने वाले कुछ वक्ताओं का भी धन्यवाद करना चाहता हूं जिन्होंने यह ज़ाहिर किया कि दुनिया में सहिष्णुता का विचार पूरब के देशों से फैला है.

3. मुझे गर्व है कि मैं उस धर्म से हूं जिसने दुनिया को सहिष्णुता और सार्वभौमिक स्वीकृति का पाठ पढ़ाया है. हम सिर्फ़ सार्वभौमिक सहिष्णुता पर ही विश्वास नहीं करते बल्कि, हम सभी धर्मों को सच के रूप में स्वीकार करते हैं.

4. मुझे गर्व है कि मैं उस देश से हूं जिसने सभी धर्मों और सभी देशों के सताए गए लोगों को अपने यहां शरण दी. मुझे गर्व है कि हमने अपने दिल में इसराइल की वो पवित्र यादें संजो रखी हैं जिनमें उनके धर्मस्थलों को रोमन हमलावरों ने तहस-नहस कर दिया था और फिर उन्होंने दक्षिण भारत में शरण ली.

5. मुझे गर्व है कि मैं एक ऐसे धर्म से हूं जिसने पारसी धर्म के लोगों को शरण दी और लगातार अब भी उनकी मदद कर रहा है.

6. मैं इस मौके पर वह श्लोक सुनाना चाहता हूं जो मैंने बचपन से याद किया और जिसे रोज़ करोड़ों लोग दोहराते हैं. ''जिस तरह अलग-अलग जगहों से निकली नदियां, अलग-अलग रास्तों से होकर आखिरकार समुद्र में मिल जाती हैं, ठीक उसी तरह मनुष्य अपनी इच्छा से अलग-अलग रास्ते चुनता है. ये रास्ते देखने में भले ही अलग-अलग लगते हैं, लेकिन ये सब ईश्वर तक ही जाते हैं.

7. मौजूदा सम्मेलन जो कि आज तक की सबसे पवित्र सभाओं में से है, वह अपने आप में गीता में कहे गए इस उपदेश इसका प्रमाण है: ''जो भी मुझ तक आता है, चाहे कैसा भी हो, मैं उस तक पहुंचता हूं. लोग अलग-अलग रास्ते चुनते हैं, परेशानियां झेलते हैं, लेकिन आखिर में मुझ तक पहुंचते हैं.

8. सांप्रदायिकता, कट्टरता और इसके भयानक वंशजों के धार्मिक हठ ने लंबे समय से इस खूबसूरत धरती को जकड़ रखा है. उन्होंने इस धरती को हिंसा से भर दिया है और कितनी ही बार यह धरती खून से लाल हो चुकी है. न जाने कितनी सभ्याताएं तबाह हुईं और कितने देश मिटा दिए गए.

9. यदि ये ख़ौफ़नाक राक्षस नहीं होते तो मानव समाज कहीं ज़्यादा बेहतर होता, जितना कि अभी है. लेकिन उनका वक़्त अब पूरा हो चुका है. मुझे उम्मीद है कि इस सम्मेलन का बिगुल सभी तरह की कट्टरता, हठधर्मिता और दुखों का विनाश करने वाला होगा. चाहे वह तलवार से हो या फिर कलम से.

 1. American brothers and sisters, it fills my heart with the warmth with which you have greeted me.  I thank you in the name of the world's oldest saintly tradition and the mother of all religions.  I express my gratitude to you on behalf of millions of Hindus of all castes and sects.

 2. I would also like to thank some of the speakers who spoke on this forum, who revealed that the idea of ​​tolerance in the world has spread from the countries of the East.

 3. I am proud to belong to a religion which has taught the world the lesson of tolerance and universal acceptance.  We believe not only in universal toleration, but we accept all religions as true.

I am proud that I belong to a country which has given shelter to the persecuted people of all religions and all countries.  I am proud that we have kept in our heart those holy memories of Israel in which their religious places were ravaged by Roman invaders and then they took refuge in South India.

On this occasion, I would like to recite a shloka which I have memorized since childhood and which is repeated by crores of people everyday.  “Just as rivers originating from different places, passing through different paths, finally meet in the sea, in the same way man chooses different paths according to his will.  These paths may seem different, but they all lead to God only.

 7. The present convention, which is one of the most sacred gatherings ever held, is in itself a testimony to the admonition said in the Gita: "Whatever comes to me, in whatever form, I reach him."  People choose different paths, face difficulties, but reach me in the end.

 8. Religious bigotry of communalism, bigotry and its hideous progeny has long held this beautiful land in its grip.  They have filled this earth with violence and many times this earth has become red with blood.  Don't know how many civilizations were destroyed and how many countries were destroyed.

9. If these fearsome monsters were not there then human society would be much better than it is now.  But his time is over now.  I hope that the bugle of this conference will be the destroyer of all bigotry, dogma and miseries.  Be it with the sword or with the pen.
